Review: 4 books about increasing own energy. ALL the SAME?

in #review6 years ago

My experience of books reading says that majority of them have the same structure. Usually, authors have several main ideas to share. The importance of each idea they prove with a personal story, scientific researchers and with quotationes from other books.

As a result, it's pretty easy to find similar ideas on one topic from different authors and at the same time, it is quite difficult to find fresh thoughts...
Let me prove it with a brief analysis of 4 books dedicated to inner energy search.

The Lazy Guru's Guide to Life: The Mindful Art of Achieving More by Doing Less

Each tip is accompanied by a picture. Good for visuals and those who do not need additional evidence of the effectiveness of the practice. Basically, the author turns to the ancient knowledge of the east and talks about the importance of switching attention from external circumstances to breathing and sensation, relaxation and visualization of nature.

52 Small Changes: One Year to a Happier, Healthier You Brett Blumenthal

The author talks about the importance of focusing on the business that you are currently engaged in and proposes to use the methodology of a limited "time module". So we find ways to activate and choose priorities to keep within the limit. At the same time, we concentrate better and do not pay attention to outside irritants, working more productively.
In other books, this approach is called the technique of tomato, or only 25 minutes to one task.

The Energy Equation: How to be a Top Performer without Burning Yourself Out D.Browne

The author says that the issue must be addressed in a holistic manner and solved not only mentally, but also via work with the body. He talks about the importance of physical exercises, good sleep and good nutrition. Actually, everything that we know from childhood, but far from in practice ...As in the first book, much attention is paid to meditative techniques, breathing and relaxation. It seems that this is the top topic of all modern books despite the topic.

The Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Solution The Essential Guide to Overcoming Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia, Made Easy! Jacob Teitelbaum

Here I can almost completely copy the short summary of the previous book. Sleep. The importance of sleep. Nutrition. Exercises.

I had 3 more books about pumping energy for review, but ... I think you've already figured out what the authors are writing about. In fact, there are no secrets or magic tablets to keep the energy always up. The main thing in this matter is not to listen to other people's advice, but to hear yourself.

We are wise people and who knows better than our common sense what we really need for recovering? )

You are back after so much time, what happened?

Hi))
learning Spanish + trying freelance = too tired to write on Steemit))
P.S. mmm it's good feeling someone remember you here) I need to be more social here too

Yes that would be nice! Actually I was pretty happy to see that you came back, because you are one of the people that I was talking about in the short story at the beginning of an older post that I have made, saying that we need to become better at user retention, because people just try to be active here, do not get enough attention and just leave.

It is great that you try to develop yourself. You should just try to share your experiences, not to make writing on Steemit a duty, but a way to relax :D

I have the feeling tt situation with minnows getting worse and worse...People give votes and write comments mainly to ¨powerfully¨ colleague with hidden message ""pls notice me! Im here!!!". From other hand, it's pretty difficult to find a good content post among many of them (or maybe it is just smth wrong with my news page).

In support of your words:
"On this day 1 year ago, 264 joined but only these 9 SteemIt users are still active" - abt the day when I joined steemit.

"...not to make writing on Steemit a duty, but a way to relax "
They should give you a position of steemit coach here as you write really deep right things.
Do not expect any results. Just do it. Then you will not be disappointed. Amen.

You are very right with your thoughts, I guess Steem will evolve a lot, or so I hope as it is my main crypto asset. Unfortunately I have delegated most of my SP so I can't upvote your comment as I would have wanted, but I will get it back :)

No worries ;) I´m glad tt our thoughts are one.
Have a nice evening!
