Officials of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC) said that cryptocurrencies will not disappear and will spread to every corner of the world.
Rostin Benham, a member of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said at the Blockchain for Impact Global summit that blockchain technology can play a huge role in health care, employment and crime management.
Rothner Benham called the cryptocurrency "the technological revolution," he said:
“Virtual currency may become part of any country’s economic practice. Let me reiterate that cryptocurrencies will not disappear, they will spread to every economy and spread to every corner of the globe... virtual currency may change the economy and social environment."
However, Rothen Benham warned that if the cryptocurrency is not properly regulated, there will be a bad side. He said:
“The blockchain can suppress totalitarianism, but if we don’t think about it, then there will be larger corruption, crime and division in the transition process.”
In fact, this is not the first time Rothstein Benham expressed caution about the potential application of blockchain technology. At the FIA Legal Compliance Conference last month, he expressed concern about the financial stability of cryptocurrencies. However, Rothstein Benam firmly believes that blockchain technology can reshape economic, social and political relationships.
