The attributes that make you a "sane" person, according to current literature.
Are you sane?
We all have our problems, some a little more than others. I was taught in school yesterday that 50% of the United States, at some point in their life, could be diagnosed with some type of mental illness. This is according to "The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders"(DSM-5).
So what technically is considered sane?
The attributes associated with sanity: "The accurate appraisal of reality" -
- Ability to play and laugh
- Maintain a healthy self-concept and self-value
- Ability to work and be productive
- Negotiate each developmental task
- Attain self defined spirituality
- Relate to others -
Form relationships
Have close, loving, adaptive relationships.
Experience empathy toward others
Manage interpersonal conflict constructively
- Ability to love and experience joy.
- Capacity to deal with conflicting emotions.
- Ability to live without (undue) fear, guilt, or anxiety.
- Ability to take responsibility for one's own actions.
- Ability to control one's own behavior.
- Think clearly -
Problem solve
Use good judgement
Reason logically
Reach insightful conclusions
Be creative

Interesting & insightful post...
Reading this post I just wondering: is there any global standards for insanity, considering the different and diverse cultures all around the world?
If I am not mistaken, Michel Foucault in his "Madness and Civilization" said that the concept of madness or insanity is relatively new...
Anyway, thanks for sharing...😍
Yeah it pretty much just varies from culture to culture. Tons of diversity out there.
I'd say there is a standard, and it would probably be our more modern cultures stand points. Thanks for your comment!
