STEEMCHURCH: Do I have a Carnal Mind?

The natural man, or unbeliever, knows nothing about carnality. The desires of the flesh that fight against the Spirit, and the war of the Spirit against the flesh, which begins with the new birth, are what produce the carnality and consciousness of it. But Paul said, "Walk according to the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16, V.M.). In a word, carnality will disappear.

Do you have an aggressive temperament, and easily get upset over insignificant things? Or do you think that no Christian is ever like that? Paul said yes, and related these attitudes to carnality. Is there any truth in the Bible that in confronting it with your behavior awakens resentment or resentment in you? If so, it is proof that you are still carnal. But if the process of sanctification is underway in your life, there will be no trace of this attitude.

If the Spirit of God detects something that is wrong, it does not ask you to correct it; He only asks you to accept the light of truth and He will correct it. A child of the light will confess the sin immediately and will be totally open to God. But a son of darkness will say: "Oh, I can explain it!" When the light shines and the Spirit brings the conviction of sin into you, be a son of light. Confess your wrongdoing and God will take care of it. More if you try to vindicate yourself, you will prove to be a child of darkness.

What is the proof that carnality has disappeared? Never fool yourself; When the carnality disappears, you'll know it-it's as real as you can imagine. And God will take care that you have several opportunities to be able to realize the miracle of His grace.

The proof lies in something very practical. You will find yourself saying, "If this had happened to me before, I would have felt great resentment!" And you will never be able to come out of your amazement on this earth by considering what God has done with you.
