One of the major reasons for designing a tablet in this way is to help the solid (active ingredients) disperse and dissolve in water quickly by create turbulence.

Haha, personally, I think the focus is more on marketing gimmick then practical. I guess it is not that difficult to swirl the cup of drinks with a spoon XDD
But these effervescent is more attractive to those little child most of the time XDD
