Water newly created in the atmoshpere and rising oceans.

Noctilucent clouds are clouds that form high above the poles of the earth. They can be seen in the summer months around their respective pole.

Normal clouds are formed by water vapor coming from the surface of the earth. Since water vapor is lighter than air it rises through the atmosphere until the pressure, volume and temperature force it to change phase into a liquid. These rising columns of water vapor can reach altitudes of 21 kilometers (13 mi), in extreme instances.

Noctilucent clouds, on the other hand, are found at altitudes of 76 to 85 kilometers (47 to 53 mi) above the poles. The question is; How can water reach such high altitudes to form these noctilucent clouds?

Perhaps the water that forms these particular clouds never has been on the surface of the earth. Perhaps the water has only recently sprung into existence.

We know that the aurora is causes by solar wind that has been captured by the planets magnetic field and directed towards the poles. The light of the aurora is evidence of electrically charged particles of the solar wind slamming into the particles of the atmosphere. We know that the solar wind is composed mostly of protons and electrons. Protons and electrons happen to be the basic constituents of hydrogen.

We now have all the components of water coming together in the same place. The oxygen in the atmosphere, the fundamental particles of hydrogen, protons and electrons, coming in from space at high speed. It does not take a great leap of imagination to think that water will be a product of this interaction.

The green and orange-red lights of the aurora indicate that oxygen is has been ionized but the blue or red light indicates that nitrogen has been ionized. If nitrogen is also being reacted with, is it possible that we will see not only water but nitrogen compounds being created also?

The oceans are rising about 3mm per year. The melting ice at the poles can only account for about half of that amount.
