Rodent continues to amaze: no pain, no cancer, no oxygen

Researchers discovered that the naked mole rat can survive without oxygen for as much as eighteen minutes without any damage. That is unprecedented in land mammals, where normally a few minutes without oxygen are fatal.Previously it appeared that the naked mole rat is insensitive to certain types of pain and only rarely gets cancer. Molrates can be up to 30 years old, ten times older than comparable rodents like the mouse.
