I think "as this one is likely to" understates things a bit. The Niburu hypothesis is not astronomy, it's secular eschatology. The existence of which is perhaps of interest to cultural anthropologists , but otherwise it's kind of useless and definitely not a scientific field.
A few days later, it has been proven without any shadow of doubt to be wrong. :) Yet in a few years, they'd claim the same with the same fervor as if they hadn't gotten this wrong a thousand times already...
