6 This Carbon Trail Affects the Earth's Planet Temperature

There are traces of the world, such as footprints on the beach sand or hand footprints on the cave walls. In addition to these two traces there is an invisible trace, the carbon dioxide trail. Carbon dioxide is not visible to the naked eye, but can be seen by scientists through a sophisticated set of tools.

Carbon footprint is a trace of greenhouse gas emissions released by individuals or groups within a certain time frame. This carbon footprint is measured by the number of trees cut, the energy used to cut it, and the carbon dioxide gas released into the air. This is because if the tree is cut down then nothing else will absorb carbon dioxide gas.

It turns out that apart from felling trees, carbon footprints can also be found in cows, clothes, even the homes we live in today.

1. Carbon Footprint

In addition to the cow, it turns out carbon footprint is also found in goats, chickens, and pigs. What distinguishes is, the carbon footprint of the cow is the largest carbon footprint in the world. Apparently farm animals like cows and chickens spend a lot of feed, in the form of corn, soybeans, and grasses.

When planting maize, there must be a forest cleared for the garden. Livestock feed should also be transported by car from one area to another. After that, meat and eggs must also be transported by car to be distributed to other cities.

but did you know if the farts of cows turned out to have a big effect on global warming? That's because the cow fart contains methane, a substance that binds heat better than carbon dioxide. No wonder if the carbon footprint of the cow is called the biggest carbon footprint in the world.

2. Carbon footwear

The clothes we wear everyday turns out to have traces of carbon dioxide as well you know. That's because the clothes are made of cotton material. Well, cotton is produced from large plantations, to make cotton gardens the trees must be cut down. Clothes from artificial fibers also produce carbon dioxide gas in the air. Whether from cotton or from artificial fibers, the shirt turns out to have the second largest carbon footprint on Earth.

3. Home carbon footprint

The carbon footprint of the construction of a house can be seen from the use of wood in the house. Carbon footprints can be found on home poles, windows, or wooden doors. The number of trees cut down to build the house and the emissions used to carry building materials by car leaves a large carbon footprint in the house.

4. Recreational carbon footprint

Recreation places a large carbon footprint. Recreational spots such as ice skating and amusement parks need a huge electrical intake. Power plants require petroleum and coal to power the engine.

The combustion process of petroleum and coal produces considerable carbon dioxide gas. Although some power plants already use alternative energy such as sunlight and water, but still oil and coal are still used in several power plants.

5. Vegetable carbon footprint

Green vegetables apparently have a carbon footprint too. Although vegetables are plants, but the process of planting should be in the vast gardens. Vegetables must also be transported by motor vehicle from village to town. The number of trees to be felled for vegetable gardens and carbon dioxide gas discharged by motor vehicles leaves a considerable carbon footprint on vegetables.

6. Public transport carbon footprint

Public transport has the smallest carbon footprint of the five carbon footprints above. While using fuel, public transportation has a small carbon footprint. If you only use buses or trains, then you only use less energy. That means you're just emitting little carbon dioxide gas.

This does not apply if you use a private vehicle, as it will increase carbon dioxide gas expenditure if everyone prefers to drive their private vehicle.

After looking at the list above, are you reluctant to eat eggs and drink milk? You should still eat but do not overdo it. Better to use foodstuffs and objects produced in our own area. That way, we can reduce the expenditure of carbon dioxide so that our earth is not getting hotter.
