February 3, 2021--Chorale Prelude on Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend by G. P. Telemann
I have continued to look at the easier organ preludes by Telemann on my Hauptwerk setup. Currently, the pedals are still not working. I have no idea why. I'm sure it's a power issue. Oh well. I can put them on the floor to practice at least. Just can't record.
Another Chorale Prelude by Telemann in a typical style. Each section of the chorale receives an imitative (semi-canonic) texture in two voices before the phrase of the chorale is presented in long held tones in the upper most part. This is a gentle chorale prelude, as befits the prayer that is being set in the hymn text:
"Lord Christ, reveal thy holy Face,
And send the Spirit of thy Grace,
To fill our Hearts with fervent Zeal
To learn thy Truth, and do thy Will."
