The Well of Peace: An Oath Against the Raid
Life is but a fleeting day,
Soon this world will fade away.
Its towers crumble, none shall stay,
To the grave we haste, no delay.
When death arrives, our days are gone,
No moment left to journey on.
While you still walk upon this land,
Hold fast to good, with steady hand.
The path of truth, do not forsake,
The Qur’an and faith, your shield to take.
Strive in deeds both pure and right,
Let worship guide you, day and night.
While the call to prayer you hear,
Neglect it not, nor leave it near.
He who takes illusion’s part,
Evil rules within his heart.
He who sinks in worldly gain,
Is shackled by its toil and chain.
Following Satan’s tempting call,
Forsaking Islam, he will fall.
Bold in sin, yet blind to end,
When death arrives, none can defend.
So guard your soul, and seek the light,
For life is short, and death in sight.
