Sexual abuse is unwanted sexual activity, with perpetrators using force, taking advantage of victims not able to give consent or making threats. Sexual abuse can happen to any teen regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Its so common for teens to be sexually abused without telling anyone about the abuse, the biggest reason is fear, the abuser may use threats to scare them into not to telling anyone about the abuse.
Experiencing sexual abuse makes life even more confusing for the teenagers and they act as if the abuse did not happen. When the pain is too much at times, they work hard to avoid the pain.
The feelings of sadness, nervousness and fear, changes in behaviour are being noticed.
What A Sexually Abused Person Should Know.
If you are sexually abused, tell your parents or friends what happened, remember that it is not your fault and if you think it is not a safe option, you could talk to a trusted adult or see the doctor.
