The Tales Of Wirdle Alexander The Ragtle : Story 1

in #shortstory7 years ago

Wirdle Alexander looked through the paper searching for employment opportunities. He was a college student looking to earn some extra cash since he blew every penny he had saved up since the sixth grade. Wirdle was a "funny looking kid" thought every person he passed in the street. He was a fiery red-head with big glasses that took up his entire face. His posture was odd, and his clothing was daring, well that's Wirdle for you.

As Wirdle looked through the paper he saw jobs for people who banked, people who drew, people who searched, and people who flew. He then looked close and saw a teeny tiny ad smaller than his pinky's nail on his hand. It said they were hiring and stated a number, he was confused what the business was, but gave them a call. "Hello darling it is Madela of Madela's magic jobs speaking. How may I help you?"

Wirdle knew he was no magician but made his voice sound proud. "This is Wirdle Alexander speaking and I need a job." Madela responded "54th Avenue, 9pm, don't be late or bring a friend!" She said it quick and smashed hang up. He was a little scared and checked the time it was 3:05. He spent all day prepping for was he thought would be a regular interview but boy if only he knew. He was prepared and headed out at 8:25. He was at the door by 8:59 and watched his watch until the clocked his 9. When it hit he knocked the door and was opened immediately and was pulled in.

"Hello Wirdle! It's great to see you! Would you like some toast or some bagel?" Wirdle guessed she was Madela and held out his hand "no thank you mam". She shook his hand and pulled him in tight and seemed to be inspecting him left and right. Her hair was up and high up and in tight blonde curls and seemed like if he knocked on her hair it would stay still and make a hollow sound. She was skinny as a twig and had long nails with lots of bracelets. Her makeup showcased every color of the rainbow. When she was done she pulled him into a room with plenty of patterns and lots of food. In the middle of the room there was a desk with 2 chairs on either side. He sat down and she did to.

"Can I see your identification Wirdle?" He pulled out his drivers licence and she smiled. "Only 20 years old. How cute. 5'7. And you only live a few blocks away! Perfect" Wirdle smiled and stared at her hands. "So Wirdle!" She pulled out a list that touched the floor and began skim the lines. "Look, I've read this too many times so here's the gist! You aren't looking into getting any ordinary job. That ad in the paper wasn't for magicians who do shows at birthday parties. The ad was for something more. Magic is real. I am a Sirap or to you a female sorceress. I can recite spells and make things do crazy things. You my dear are going to take on a job that you can't tell anybody about. You will become one with magic as they are know a Ragtle."

Wirdle believe everything she said and began to swell with happiness. "What am I going to be?" "Well Wirdle I have looked into you and you can either be a egg hatcher of magic animals or a wand maker and seller. What will it be?"

Wirdle instantly knew he had to make wands and sell them. He told Madela and began to sign papers. It all happened to fast he didn't even realize he had entered a portal to a wizard world. Everything looked the same as his world had except for the fashion, the people, the creatures, and the things people sold. But this was only the beginning.
