Working on a Kilo of US Constitutional Silver Dimes 5-12-2022

in #silvergoldstackers2 years ago

Fresh off the mint, one US Constitutional (90%) Silver Dime has 0.07234, Troy Ounce of Silver. But after years of use, that weight diminishes. To achieve, one T OZ. one needs about $1.40, in Dimes. Actually, around $1.38. When buying/selling by weight, the “rule-of-thumb” is around 0.0715. Check out the two Troy Ounces, of (junk box) US Silver Dimes (28), from the Local Coin Shop. Today's price was, $20(USD) per $1 face value. Down $2, from the day before.

These old Mercury/Liberty, (90%), Silver Dimes, have been doing their job, of storing value & wealth, for about a century.

The US Mint, mass-produced, these, 1964, Silver F. D. Roosevelt Dimes, literary, by the tonnes. Same with 1964, Washington Quarters & JFK Half Dollars.

Valuable Silver, pocket-change is still floating around, in circulation, but getting rarer, year by year. Today, it's getting to be a once in a lifetime find, for the lucky. I am working on stacking a Kilo of Silver Dimes, from the LCS. It will probably take around, 450 Silver Dimes, to exceed the Kilo weight, of pure Silver.

This, mostly, Mercury/Liberty stack, is about 166 short.

This is not intended to be any kind of financial advice. This is all about a fun hobby, of collecting & stacking Silver Coins, Treasures, and such.
