Palm Kernel Oil For African Beauty
Black palm kernel oil also known as 'Adin dudu' in Yoruba and 'Elu aki' in Ibo is an awesome oil from the palm kernel fruit with numerous health, hair and skin benefits.
I will be focussing on the hair and skin benefits alone.
Palm kernel oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, E and K
It has antiaging benefits and prevents the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines with its vitamin A.
It restores elasticity of the skin with vitamin E.
Cures dry, itchy skin and helps in the treatment of eczema.
It's also a great moisturiser. It softens the skin, making it velvety smooth and supple.
Fades hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
Palm kernel oil thickens the hair and adds volume.
It increases softness and sheen.
If you are looking for an oil to restore your edges, it's Palm kernel oil as it strengthens the hair and prevents shedding leading to lenght retention.
I add it to my prepoo oil or deep conditioning mix and to oil my hair after washing.
I love it in black soaps as well.
Most people believe it darkens the skin but it doesn't.
Yes, it has a nutty smell which is not nice I must confess but you need to forgo somethings to get the desired.
Start using palm kernel oil for a beautiful skin like velvet and hair like a healthy forest 😉
