The BLOCKCHANCE Conference Hamburg 2018 ‘The future of economics’ opened its doors for two days on August 24th and 25th .

It created a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience and deep insights into the field of the blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies.

This event taught beginners in blockchain about the socio-economic impact of the coming blockchain revolution and also allowed for advanced crypto enthusiasts to have a platform for community building and meeting like-minded people.

The first BLOCKCHANCE Conference was a great success with over 350 attendees, 35 fantastic speakers and exhibitors and more than 25 press members and media agencies. This was the biggest blockchain conference in north Germany in 2018 for now.

The conference was a wonderful opportunity to show how Skycoin will provide open access to information and supports free speech while mitigating the abilities of centralized powers to censor/block/control by providing new and free decentralized Internet.

Synth used the opportunity to tell the history of skycoin, which was conceptualized over 10 years ago, and real development, which started over 8 years ago.
The motivation to create skycoin was to correct the flaws and deficiency of first and second-generation cryptocurrency like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Skycoin’s platform is completely secure, infinitely scalable, and ISP independent. Backed by bandwidth, storage, and computational power Skycoin is built to fulfil Satoshi’s original vision.

He elaborated on the skycoin ecosystem of technologies that work together in unison to provide a complete package.
Skywire – Skywire is a blockchain-based Internet service that removes the ageing centralized protocols used for today’s Internet. This mesh network consists of thousands of nodes that connect to each other directly for forwarding and routing of Internet traffic. This creates a spider web-like network or mesh that is more stable, secure and faster than the current World Wide Web.

Obelisk – To tackle this centralization problem, Skycoin moves beyond PoW/PoS. It uses a distributed consensus algorithm, called Obelisk, which distributes influence over the network according to a “web of trust”. In essence, every node has a list of other nodes that it subscribes to, and the density of a node’s network of subscribers determines its influence on the network. Each node is assigned a personal blockchain which acts as a “public broadcasting channel” on which all of a node’s actions are visible and publicly recorded.

Fiber – Skycoin’s Fiber network was built elegantly from the ground up to be robust, customizable and infinitely scalable. The beauty of Fiber is in its architecture, which allows it to easily overcome the challenges not solved by Bitcoin and Ethereum. In order to eliminate the slow speed and high cost of transactions, with the Fiber network, Skycoin’s team created a new consensus protocol known as Obelisk.
Each project on the fiber platform has its own blockchain.
He went further to inform the audience that skycoin is developing antennas. He reiterated the fact that skywire is defined by a relationship between nodes and by the ability for information to move between them, not by any particular transport medium between nodes.

The antennas provide the ability to move information without having to use Tier 3 ISP (e.g. Comcast) -owned infrastructure and will make it easier for more people to participate in the network, but they are not required for the core functionality of Skywire to work.
The testnet of skywire is without antennas and it is for testing the economic models of coin hours, fixing bugs of the Skywire software and incentivising people to build the Skywire Miner hardware.
The next step beyond the mainnet launch will be ISP independence for the Skywire network.

The antennas will provide a significant upgrade to the Skywire network’s capabilities and will bring us closer to a future where everyone can become their own Internet service provider .
He used the occasion to show finished prototypes of motorized antennae which will help to form a mesh of nodes that will propagate the skywire decentralized internet .

He also used the occasion to announce the launch of the first official Android version of their mobile wallet.

This initial version of Skycoin's mobile wallet includes all the basic and some advanced features as well that incorporate flexibility as well as security.
The wallet also included a more advanced feature where you can select the specific UTXO (unspent outputs) for sending Skycoin. This allows a more flexible customization of Coin Hours usage for your needs
To make your wallet even more secure, your wallet seeds are hardware encrypted and never leave your device.
He used the occasion to show finished prototypes of the Skycoin hardware wallet that will support all fiber projects and the top 100 coins on CMC. Integration with ledger is at an advanced stage.

The skyminer is the hardware of the new and free decentralized Internet. Its custom-built hardware exceeds technical specifications to deliver maximum power and performance. Skywire functions as a “miner” for Skycoin. It acts as a specialized VPN.

Professor Stefan Brunnhuber member of the club of Rome, European academy and political consultant at EU commission listened with rapt attention to Synth with rapt attention as he broke down skycoin ecosystem and how it could potentially change the world.

They will bring Skyminers to local businesses who will be able to provide free, decentralized and anonymous internet to their customers and make a little bit of money on it. KittyCash has announced a breeding that will go live in only a few weeks and will allow players to start breeding their KittyDrop Kitties. Also in the works are celebrities being designed by the kitty cash team for entertainment and sports stars. Expect LeBron James, Stef curry, Kim Kardashian, Christiano Ronaldo,
Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Dwayne Johnson, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and many more kitties in the coming day and these kitties will be dropped on their timelines in Instagram, Twitter and all their social media outlets. Games will also be developed to portray these celebrities for promotional use.

In addition, some of the biggest sporting franchises and clubs will also have kitties/mascots designed by the kitty cash team.

Skycoin has also started a discussion about a partnership with https://africanblockchain.org/ conference that takes place annually in Uganda. This year many big names attended such as CZ (Ceo of Binance), President of Mauritius, President of Uganda, and many more. Africa is often forgotten about when it comes to business development and skycoin see a great potential in this partnership, as it would be a very good "testing ground" for Skywire.

Skycoin is still determining which city in the world will be the first skywire city.
Despite all the gloom in the market, it has come to the stage where the market is thinning out projects that cannot survive. Once that's done, the true projects will start to rise and no one needs a soothsayer to say that skycoin is very well positioned to take its rightful place in the space.
Crypto will have mass adoption in the future, the technologies in the past prove it. In the end, the tech-savvy people investing in crypto now (<1% of the world) will be the biggest winners in the next decade.

The major reason for the interest of regulatory agencies in crypto is a belated attempt to keep them relevant. They are not relevant, and their future involvement will only drive the development of non-territorial crypto and blockchain technology whereby interfering actors are sidelined. Once Blockchains and cryptocurrencies become completely decentralized, regulators will be rendered obsolete.
