The sound of snow crunching
What is it about the sound of fresh snow crunching underfoot that seems to set the mind at ease?
On a cold winter's night, in the silence, listening to the weight of the air on you as stand still, absorbing the tiny echoes of distant noise. You start walking, slowly, enjoying each step and the subtle sound it creates.
So similar to the crunch of leaves yet foreign as can be. Is it ASMR or something deeper, something in our genes, something... primal. The faint call from a time when winter was as deadly as it is uncomfortable to us now?
Heed the call of those before you! Venture out into the snow and suffer the sting of the cold to taste of the joys it brings our eyes and ears.
