This just doesn't happen in football, it's totally unprecedented. To win the league you need to be the best team over 38 games, which is why it's been dominated by a small number of elite clubs for decades. They have the cash and resources to effectively manage a consistent level of performance in such a long and intense season, they have bigger squads full of the best players in the world. Leicester is not in this group of elite clubs, they were in the lower tier of football until recently. This is the first new team to win it in 38 years, but 38 years ago it was a much more even playing field. There's no draft in soccer, the big clubs hoard the best players and maintain dominance, so for a team such as Leicester City to actually win the league, it's unthinkable. WAS unthinkable.. This is like a school football team entering the NFL season and actually winning the superbowl. It's hands down the greatest achievement there has ever been in soccer, and I would say once of the most incredible sporting achievements there has ever been period.
