Steemit is a social network based on the blockchain

Released a beta version of a new platform for communication Steemit, where the users will get paid in the cryptocurrency for the publication in the network. Curious what the reaction to the new platform in the era of the countless already existing social networks?
History and principles Steemit

Steemit is a young company founded in early 2016 ned Scott (Ned Scott) and Daniel Larimer (Daniel Larimer). Ned Scott previously worked in the Gellert Global Group, a family company, which owns numerous food companies in North America.
Daniel Larimer is the founder of Bitshares, tokens which have the eleventh-largest market cap among all cryptocurrencies.
Steemit is controlled by the technology of the blockchain and uses its own cryptocurrency to reward users for uploaded articles, images, comments and the like. Other payment methods include search and vote for popular content. The sooner people vote for a post that becomes popular, the more the remuneration.
Reward users paid half in "Steem Power" (transitional currency), and half-Dollars in Steem, which can be exchanged for American dollars.
Daniel Larimer says:
"Steemit is a qualitatively new way of recognizing participants on the Internet, especially those who will join our community in the early stages and will remain for a long time.
New users get a token part of Steem at registration, those who are beginning or continuing discussions using the power of persuasion, accuracy, literacy and the ability to format your thoughts will get the votes faster and be rewarded accordingly."
As prevents the creation of multiple accounts? One of the problems when you reward users for posting publications is that people are trying to trick the system by creating multiple accounts. These accounts are used for multiple post and vote, thus manipulating the popularity of the publications.
Steemit trying to control it, requiring users to register using Facebook accounts.
The concept is not new

The concept of distribution of advertising revenue between users is not new. Even in 2014, sites and Bubblews BonzoMe suggested the idea to pay users a fee for creating content. These sites are used for the transfer of payments Paypal. Bubblews was closed in November 2015.
The largest Argentine social network Taringa lists tips its users bitcoin for posting and sharing content. There are bonuses in the cryptocurrency for posts on some forums.
However, this has not led to a mass migration of users from Facebook and other social media. Let's see how successful it will be Steemit.

I have been on steemit for almost two weeks and thoroughly appreciate the whole concept of rewarding individuals for posting content etc. It's refreshing that a social media platform has been finally established with this ethos.
How much revenue has been generated by Facebook or Instagram? It's obvious where the profits have gone!!
