RE: ~ How many more surprises will Mercury give us? ~

You think you got enough bot votes? This place isn't going to change unless people like you do. You clearly spent time on this article and it is thoughtful which is commendable but, according to stbot, your bot to organic bot ratio is high. There are a lot of hardworking Steemians that do not perpetuate the bot economy because we believe in a greater ideal. The ideal of equal voice. The concept that even a 0 SP holder can be rewarded for something exceptional. Unfortunately, in the present state, the likelihood of such a post never being noticed due to bid botters is great. If what I am saying resonates with you, join us.

Total Payout: $15.11. (Organic: $5.99, Bots: $9.12) Net Votes: 27. Comments: 13. Age: 10 hours old.

I could still have more, there are a few more vote buying services.
My ultimate goal is of course to have a good community of friends and followers and not have to use those services. But unfortunately that has not happened yet.
So for the moment I will continue to use the services that I consider appropriate to publicize my work.

Yeah, I disagree fundamentally with their use but understand why people do it.

Do you think it is a good thing that authors may use their stake to place their posts / comments above otherss irrespective of quality?

Of course not.
The quality of the post is what gives value to our beloved community. That in my opinion is not debatable. And it is precisely what we all have to fight against. But that doesn’t mean that the creators of quality content, we can not advertise our work.

I reiterate that this is my personal opinion, and as I have written before, not something that I consider to continue doing indefinitely. If not as a powerful tool to give visibility to my blog.
Of course I would prefer to be investing my SBD in Steem instead of having to use it for this purpose.
