I love your posts because they give me a glimpse into the near future when we will colonize mars for sure. They cheer me up, also, I love learning new things. However, I believe that humankind won´t embrace all the possibilities our current science(or future one) gives us for terraforming or even setting up colonies there while being hindered by economic shortsightedness, and that depresses me back to hell.

Yes, indeed.
The amounts of money needed to do missions as ambitious as the terraforming of Mars or build permanent bases there is immense. Which is quite depressing from a realistic point of view. But there is always the possibility of finding new sources of energy from materials that are only found in celestial bodies with a weak atmosphere. This would make it more interesting to go there from the economic point of view.
