The wounds are still open in Nice, a year after the attack
The Maritime Avenue of the city, in which last year 86 people lost their lives by breaking the so-called ' death truck ', will pay homage to the victims
L Nice bombing left an open wound between the population of this city in southeastern France, where a year ago an extremist rammeded a crowd celebrating the national holiday, killing 86 people. This year, instead of the traditional fireworks show that brought together some 30,000 people in the Paseo de los Ingleses, the famous Maritime Avenue of Nice, which was white of the attack of 2016, there will be candles, a gold book and a solemn speech by President Emmanuel Macron.
On July 14, a man rammeded with a truck to the crowd that had congregated, taking the front of all the people he found in his way. In less than three minutes the 19 ton vehicle, which zigzagueó between the roadway and the sidewalk along two kilometres to provoke the largest number of casualties, caused 86 deaths, among them 15 minors, and more than 450 wounded.
