Esta hermosa planta tiene su origen en Sudáfrica, es una de las flores mas robustas que existe, se cultiva en climas cálidos a eso se debe su aparición en américa debido a factores humanos. Sus usos principales son como flor para adornar los jardines.
Esta plata es totalmente Toxica por lo cual no debe ser ingerida. Es usada también en las fiestas de mayo en otros continentes para anunciar la primavera.
