Los Navegantes del Magallanes luego de barrer a las Águilas del Zulia , en su propio nido, en el "Luis Aparicio el Grande" de Maracaibo tomaron por asalto el primer lugar en la tabla de posiciones de la LPBV.

Con una sólida actuación del "Chino" Wilfredo Boscán que permitió tres rayitas, en cinco entradas, Boscán venció a sus ex-compañeros y obtuvo además su cuarta victoria del campeonato mandando con ello directamente al primer lugar al equipo turco tras la derrota que sufrieran los Cardenales de Lara.
Destacaron ofensivamente por los eléctricos Rymer Liriano con un par de remolcadas y Alfredo Marte lo imitaba con una fletada adicional, además de Reinaldo Rodríguez quien sonó tres indiscutibles para dejar su promedio en notable average de 361 puntos, estos peloteros fueron las bujías para que el Magallanes terminara venciendo a unas alicaídas Águilas con marcador de 8 carreras por 4.
