Gary Neville Reveals Secret of Ronaldo's Success
Former Manchester United player Gary Neville reveals the secret to the success of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Neville says it's dedication and hard work that makes Ronaldo as successful as it is now. The Portuguese player is a collector of five Ballon d'Or trophies.
"I can talk about Ronaldo directly and hours about his kicking practice," said Neville,
Neville had become a senior player when Ronaldo arrived at Manchester United in 2003 until finally moving to Real Madrid in 2009. Neville watched how Ronaldo trained very hard at United.
"Ronaldo, when he first came to United, was not a free kick taker, he was not a corner kick kicker, the accuracy of his kick was not that good," Neville said.
Ronaldo can finally bring United won the English Premier League three consecutive seasons, namely 2006/2007, 2007/2008, and 2008/2009. He also presented the Champions League Cup to United in the 2007/2008 season.
Neville responded to a statement comparing Raheem Sterling with Ronaldo. He thinks Sterling is not a good free-kick shooter. But according to Neville, Sterling who is now 23 years old can be like Ronaldo.
"Whether Sterling can kick corners with a six-yard corner kick, the answer is no, Ronaldo can not do it when he's 18 or 19, that's the result of hours of training every day," said Neville.
I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.
