PWA Fuerteventura 2018 is a wrap and home to the garden

in #sport6 years ago

The PWA event in Sotevento, Fuerteventura is a classic. It had been 6 years since I last attended the event and apart from some erosion of the sandy beach not a lot had changed.

Coverage wise for Windsurfing.tv we started off doing daily edits of the freestyle event.

These daily edits are a race to get online and we aim to have them online by 8-9pm the same day. Suitable conditions unfortunately only lasted for 2 days but behind the scenes we were filming for a full 30min film. These event story films are less time dependent as people still watch them months/years later, so the freestyle event film is still unfinished.

Working in these windy sandy conditions is a challenge and the venue offers little shade so it is quite a brutal experience filming for 10 days in Fuerteventura.

The slalom racing event ran for the final 5 days and like the freestyle event they only had solid wind for the first two days. Our coverage changed for this event and we decided to do some fun behind the scenes features, edits that will be coming over the next few weeks. We then made a round up film from the racing , I found an opportunity to do some editing on the plane home and finished this film in the last days.

Back home and great to see the family and the garden, all looking so green and lush compared to the Canaries!!
