Barcelona president hopes to repeat the Iniesta experience with Messi

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomio hopes to repeat the experience of the Catalan captain Andres Iniesta with Argentine Lionel Messi.

"We are a club committed to playing good football, we have a unique style of play, and we have Messi, the best player in the world," Bartomeo said in remarks published by the Spanish newspaper Marca.

"We also have Iniesta as an example (signed a lifetime contract). We do not just want him as a player, but as a legend in the future, and I hope that will happen with Messi as well."

"Messi has a contract for the next 4 years, I think he will not be his last with Barcelona."

"The market will become stable, but I'm not sure," he said.

"There are a lot of clubs and countries investing in football, and maybe it will be difficult to hire the best players in the world."

"Our goal is to hire young players, teach them how we play, and then push them with the first team."

"This season we have paid a lot of money for the new contracts because of our investment in the Neymar deal, but next summer we plan to invest 60 million euros in the sale of the players," he said.

"After signing with Pico, one of Barcelona's sponsors, our next goal is to acquire a new sponsor who will have the rights to name Camp Nou, so that our total investment is about 600 million euros, the highest number in the club's history."
