Barcelona sweeps Real Madrid and shakes the top of the league

Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu for the 17th round of the Spanish league.

Real Madrid began the game with high-pressure offensive progress on Barcelona players who managed to absorb the opponent's progress and tried to score through rebounds, but the first half ended in a goalless draw.

In the second half Luis Suarez opened the scoring in the 54th minute, after a quick counter-attack ended with a powerful shot to the left of goalkeeper Kellor Navas.

Lionel Messi doubled the score in the 63rd minute after a penalty was awarded to Barcelona after Danny Cravgall touched the ball before entering the goal, causing his dismissal and increased pressure on the players of the Royal.

In the 93rd minute, Alex Vidal scored the third goal of Barcelona minutes after entering as substitute for Sergi Roberto.

Barcelona scored a third consecutive win at the Santiago Bernabeu in the league, the first time in the club's history.

Barca have 45 points on the table, while Real have 31 points in fourth.
