Harden out with injury
Rockets will be without James Harden for at least a couple games. The 29-year-old reigning MVP will miss the next two games due to a hamstring injury.
Harden is expected to miss Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers and Tuesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers. At that point, Harden will be re-evaluated before the team goes on a four-game road trip.
Harden was injured late during Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz. Following the Rockets’ 100-89 loss to the Jazz, coach Mike D’Antoni revealed Harden suffered a hamstring injury. Prior to leaving the contest, Harden scored 29 points and dished out seven assists. After being evaluated, Harden was diagnosed with a Grade 1-plus hamstring strain.
In four games this season, Harden has performed as any reigning MVP should. He’s averaging 28.5 points and nine assists per game.
