What a Boston Sports Fan want for Christmas….

in #sports6 years ago (edited)

Boston is “Title Town”! We have experienced the best run on championships since the turn of the century of all cities in America. With Title Town as the backdrop, and yes admitting to all the spoilage, as gluttonous fans we want more!

The New England Patriots are having an un-Patriot like year at 9-4. With three games remaining the Patriots are poised to win their 10’Th straight Division Title and are one game out of the best record in the conference. Santa we need your help! Please bring us a three game winning streak and loses to Kansas City and San Diego. Then at 12 – 4 we can start our annual playoff pilgrimage towards yet another Super Bowl appearance.

The Boston Celtics lost in the Eastern Conference finals last season with Kyrie Irving (knee) and Gordon Haywood (broken ankle) out for the play-offs. This year with more stars than minutes of available playing time the team broke out at 10 -10, ugh!@#$. But they have just won 7 in a row and are poised to position themselves for a run at the title. What the Celtics really need for Christmas is a “two for”. They have too many quality players so Danny Ainge needs to trade two quality players for one better one. Here is suggesting that Santa help orchestrate Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier and their best draft pick (they have a few) for a great big man.

The Bruins are having a reasonable season. Tuukka Rask is a mess having taken a short leave to fix family matters, But David Pasternak is on fire with the second most goals scored in the league to date. What the Bruins need for Christmas is for Charlie McAvoy to overcome his concussion setback (he missed two months) and be the best defenseman on the team, for Tuukka to be mentally sharp and not be burdened by family issues and for Brad Marchant and Patrice Bergeron to tally goals almost as proficiently as Pasternak. Then we might be a surprising force in the play-offs and end up in the finals where anything can happen.

The Boston Red Sox just off their Championship run have recently signed Nathan Evoldi and Steve “WS MVP” Pearce to new contracts. What needs remain include a replacement closer for Craig Kimbrel and a bullpen piece or two. The bullpen pieces can be stocking stuffers perhaps some ex Yankee reliever, but Santa must deliver a bonafide closer to replace the god like closing numbers that Kimbrel puts up.

So there you have it, a Boston sports fan’s Christmas list!
