Romelu Lukaku set to have Manchester United medical, Chelsea set to lose out
The Everton striker is set to have a medical in Los Angeles before joining Manchester United for £75m, according to the BBC. Chelsea, who were thought to be the initial destination for the Belgian striker, appear to have missed out despite bidding the same amount for the striker. However, the Blues refused to match super-agent Mino Raiola's fees.
Paul Pogba further confirmed the news by posting an Instagram video where Lukaku says that he will see Pogba in training tomorrow (See https://www.instagram.com/p/BWRuiuthRnJ/). The pair are friends and presently vacationing in Los Angeles, ahead of the upcoming Manchester United US tour.
Manchester United were previously linked with Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata and Torino's Andrea Belotti. However, the rumored departure of Wayne Rooney to Everton on a free transfer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's own departure may require the Old Trafford side to add numbers to their strike force.
