COWBOYS V REDSKINS_ NFC EAST SHOWDOWN
NFC EAST THURSDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN ANALYSIS
The matchup of two underwhelming NFC EAST teams.
Dallas Cowboys are coming off a horrible looking lose to the trending Chargers where they aloud Philip Rivers to throw for 434 Yards. On the other hand, Dak Prescott was held for under 200 yards passing and zero touchdowns. My blame will not shift to him, as the play calling has completely changed since the suspension of Zeke started. They ran the ball 25-30 times a game with Elliott, and you stop running when he is out? This makes the offense extremely predictable and clearly, we are seeing the results, running only 18 times a game between two backs is ridiculous. Switching to the defensive side of the ball. The Cowboys did keep Melvin Gordon in check allowing him about 3.5 yards a carry, but that was about it. It will be interesting to see how the secondary responds, as they have not shown much resiliency.
The Washington Redskins had a tad better week by taking down the Giants. At this point, I do not consider that much of a task anymore. Kirk Cousins looked solid, completing about 65% of his passes for 242 Yards and two touchdowns. Samaje Perine had a breakout game rushing for 100 yards at 4.2 yards a carry. It was just a balanced attack for the Redskins and a team win. Going into this week, the run defense will need to continue to force Dallas to move the ball by air. On the opposite side of the line, the Redskins need to prepare for Demarcus Lawrence and Anthony Hitchens coming after Kirk. The O-line for the Skins has been shay this year and could factor huge into the outcome of the game. I expect Crowder and Doctson to run wild this week as the secondary for the Cowboys has yet to stop anyone.
MY PICK FOR THE WEEK: REDSKINS
THE CHOSEN ONES:
Kirk Cousins: After letting Philip Rivers throw for 434 Yards and 3 TD’s, starting Kirk is a no brainer.
Samaje Perine: I am a little weary of this start because of what the Cowboys offered Melvin Gordon, even in a blowout game. I would say a flex option with a solid upside because of the amount of touches (24) he received last week.
Jamison Crowder: Absolute start this week against this week secondary. Going for seven catches in his last two games. I do not expect his workload to subside at all. WR1 this week. Why did the Skins get Pryor again?
Did you make a prediction for which team will win?
