Liverpool Struggle Without Salah, Mane and Firmino

The attacking trio who were very much part and parcel of Liverpool’s success both in Europe and domestically in which they chased eventual league winners Manchester City to the last match of the season is currently enjoying holidays and have apparently watched their team lose two consecutive pre season matches.

Without doubt, Jurgen Klopp would have marked the first loss against Borussia Dortmund as a test and hoped to win the next test against Sevilla but couldn’t.

Main man in defence Virgil Van Dijk appears to be out of pace and tired, no one knows if he is saving his strength for the coming season but Sevilla were tougher, stronger and hungrier than the reds, prompting me to ask if there wouldn’t be a success for Liverpool without Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

It is true that every top team has got a main man or main men, players they can always rely on to cross them a river but over reliance on a particular player or players is what destroys a good team more reason why quality squad depth is recommended.

There is no way I am blaming both pre season losses of Liverpool on the absence of their favourite attacking trio but judging from both matches especially the recent one, they only defended well but struggled to create anything solid up front.

Their only goal of the match came from a corner kick and sharpness from striker Origi. Jurgen Klopp has made the right signings all summer since his arrival at the club but he and the Liverpool team has been surprisingly silent as the current transfer window is coming to an end but the great coach might still have some plans up his sleeve before August 8th.
