British MotoGP The last five seasons always bring different winners
The British MotoGP will roll out this weekend at Silverstone Circuit. In the last five seasons, no rider has been able to win more than once.
Since returning to hold MotoGP races in 2010, Silverstone Circuit presents a number of classic races. In the last five years, Silverstone even witnessed five different riders on the highest podium.
In 2013, Jorge Lorenzo appeared as the winner. Lorenzo, who at that time was still strengthening Yamaha won an exciting duel against Marc Marquez.
Marquez then redeemed his defeat in 2013 with the highest podium in 2014. He defeated Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.
In 2015, Valentino Rossi triumphed in a race that took place on a wet track. Two other Italian riders, Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso, completed the podium.
The 2016 British MotoGP will be a race remembered by Maverick Vinales. It was there that he won his first victory in the premier class while giving Suzuki his first victory since 2007.
In 2017, Dovizioso won his fourth victory of the season by becoming a champion at Silverstone. He outperformed Vinales and Rossi.
This season, will a different winner re-emerge?
