Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui raised his voice about the rumors of Luka Modric's departure, which was targeted by Inter Milan. He insisted the player would not be sold.
Modric, who last season led Madrid to the Champions League, suddenly rumored to be moving. It is Inter Milan who intend to bring it.
Madrid, which is still contracting Modric until 2020, insists it is reluctant to release it. President Florentino Perez challenged his interested clubs to pay the clause of 750 million euros or Rp. 12.6 trillion.
Modric himself has not joined the team. He is still on vacation after bringing Croatia into the 2018 World Cup runner-up.
Lopetegui then commented on the player's speculation. He considered what Perez said was clear, that Modric would not be sold Los Blancos.
"I think the president has said it, I don't think there are many things that can be added. He said it briefly and clearly. Luka Modric is an extraordinary player and we are waiting for him with open arms," Lopetegui said as quoted by Sportskeeda.
