Christo / Aldila golden goiter, Menpora: This is unexpected, we are proud!

Christopher Rungkat / Aldila Sutjiadi won the gold medal from the mixed tennis of the 2018 Asian Games. Menpora Imam Nahrawi who watched the match appreciated it.

Competing on the Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) tennis court on Saturday (08/25/2018), Christo / Aldila managed to beat the Thai pair, Sonchat Ratiwatana / Luksika Kumkhum with a score of 6-4, 5-7 [10-7].

Menpora Imam witnessed the final match directly. He did not expect the positive results.

"Hopefully in the future our chances of gaining gold will increase. Those who have not succeeded do not despair, there is still tomorrow for us to offer to the motherland," Imam added.

At the expense of Christo / Aldila, Imam also mentioned Palembang as having good luck for athletes. Until now, three gold for Indonesia emerged from Palembang.

Although only seeded at number 11 Tennis Mixed Doubles, Christo and Aldila did manage to beat Thailand that was seeded at number 5. Menpora will also give a bonus of Rp. 1 billion / person.
