U-16 AFF Cup Final Results: Indonesia Defeat Thailand through Penalty Shootout

The Indonesian national team won the U-16 2018 AFF Cup. The title was obtained after defeating Thailand on penalties.
In the match at the Gelora Delta Stadium, Sidoarjo, Saturday (08/11/2018), the Indonesian Under-16 national team matched Thailand 1-1 in an 80-minute rolling match.
Indonesia took the lead in the first round through Muhammad Fajar Fathur Rachman's goal. But, Thailand managed to equalize in the second half.
Indonesia has been dominant since kick-off. But some opportunities are wasted. One of them was when Supriadi tried to open the scoring, but his effort was thwarted by Thai goalkeeper Anuchid Taweesri.
The Indonesian deadlock to score quickly responded by the coach, Fakhri Husaini, by pulling out Amanar Abdillah in the 17th minute. He was replaced by Fajar Fathur Rachman.
That change paid off. Shown from the bench, Fajar, managed to break into Thailand's goal after using feedback from Andre Oktaviansyah. Indonesia also won 1-0.
There were no more goals in the first half. Indonesia won 1-0 until halftime.
Entering the second round, the Indonesian national team did not change the game. The scrolling game is more balanced. But then, Indonesia can make a number of dangerous opportunities.
The onslaught of Indonesian players had endangered Thailand, but there were no goals. Supriadi's shot in the 68th minute was still too weak and could be neutralized by the Thai goalkeeper.
In the 73rd minute, Indonesia conceded. The Apidet Janngam reserve player managed to break into the goal guarded by Ernando Ari. Apidet did not get control and easily fired a goal.

The match continued with the toss-tosan contest. Through the courtroom Indonesia succeeded in ensuring the title with a victory on the penalty shootout.
In competition for penalties, Thailand gets a chance first. Ernando Ari failed to anticipate Thanarin Thumsen's kick. Indonesia balanced it through Sutan Zico.
Ernando Ari succeeded in inviting the second Thai man, Apidet Janngam. Indonesia became superior to the success of Bagus Kahfi.
Anaucha Sodri then succeeded and was 2-2. Indonesian third person Rendy Juliansah also managed to execute a penalty so winning 3-2.
Kittiphong Khetpara made the same position 3-3. David Maulana made Indonesia back 4-3 ahead.
Indonesia confirmed the title when Ernando Ari succeeded in thwarting Pongsakorn Innet's kick.
