THE TORNADO, WONDER OF NATURE...FEAR OF MAN

in #stach7 years ago (edited)

Hey guys, it's a privilege to be writing again on steemit. This Little writeup is about tornados.

Tornados are one of the most intriguing things man have ever witnessed. Nature is powerful and does not need permission to exhibit its power, and tornados are one of those powerful characteristics of nature.

So, what are tornados ?

Tornados are one of the most powerful and destructive weather events on earth. They are violent column of air rotating in contact with the earth surface (which is either land or water) and they are often associated with thunderstorms.

.

Tornados are classified into three, they are.

1. Landspout(Tornados that form on land )

2. Waterspout(Tornados that form on water)

3. Gustnado( a small tornado caused by strong wind from a thunderstorm.)

Yeah, we know Tornados are destructive but not all have much effects. There are Tornados that are have more effects and their effects are measured using the fujita scales

which has now been replaced with the enhanced fujita scales.

Here are some facts about Tornados

  1. They are obviously a violent weather condition.
  2. They are also called Twisters.
  3. Most times, they look like elephant trunk when they form.
  4. Most tornados have speeds less than 100 miles per hour(however extreme ones may reach 300 miles per hour ).**
  5. Tornados travel miles before they disperse (however extreme ones travel 100+ miles before they disperse).**
  6. The fujita scale and enhanced fujita scale are used to measure the strength of Tornados based primarily on the damage Tornados cause structures built by humans.

WHENEVER YOU SEE A FUNNEL CLOUD TAKE COVER BECAUSE IT MIGHT BE A TORNADO COMING YOUR WAY.

Interesting write up on tornados, but I'm curious to know what causes them. Could you help with that

i asolutely can. just incase @winarobert.

He has done that already... Thanks for offering, but if there's more you wanna add, I'm open to hearing

Tornados are formed by extremely large thunderstorms(mostly associated with very heavy rains), they also occur. when temperature and humidity(amount of water vapor in the air) meet.

Thank you for this, I've learnt something new
