Buddhist Temple ,Maheshkhali

The Bodhi temple is located next to the Adinath temple, higher than the Adinath temple, but it is in a neglected condition. I do not have enough knowledge to write about it, but I will just describe some of the things I noticed when I reached here. We were very nervous to come here because we had to climb to the very top of the mountain to get here. It is located at the highest altitude.

Stairs to climb the mountain

After climbing the Adinath temple, you have to climb another staircase and it is quite a steep staircase. There is a railing with the staircase to climb it, so you can hold on to it. When you go up the stairs, there are two shops that sell cold water and soft drinks, the prices are a little higher than on the plains. In front of this shop is the Ram-Sita temple and behind it is the Buddhist temple.

We will reach there by walking. The Buddhist temple is neglected, but sometimes people may perform puja activities here. There are examples of pujas being offered at small doors around the temple. There are four tiger statues around the Buddhist temple. I couldn't find what this symbolizes or its history on Google. However, there are some designs on the temple that enhance the beauty of the temple. The Buddhist temple is golden in color, which, when clean, radiates a bright golden light. If you go down a little from the Buddhist temple, you can see another temple similar to it, but there was no way to go down here. The very slippery road prevented us from going down.

From the temple premises, it can be seen that the farmers of Maheshkhali are cultivating the famous betel nut here. However, this will disappoint ordinary tourists because there is only this establishment here, which has no history or story known. We were disappointed to come to this Buddhist temple after climbing so much up the hill. A small Buddhist temple, but it is ancient. It is quite dangerous for the elderly and children here if they cannot maintain their balance. Below I am attaching its Google location and Steam Atlas pin.
