Today is the first day of fasting, and it will be very difficult to do heavy work while fasting all day. Today we have hired two workers who will lightly irrigate our potato fields. The van will come home in the morning and we will put the machine and other equipment in the van and send them to the field. Yesterday, while irrigating the corn field, the machine ran out of oil and stopped. I took my bike to the pump to get diesel. I bought 1 gallon of diesel from the pump. In the morning, the farmers were standing at the pump for diesel. I took the diesel and went straight to the field and saw that the machine had been lowered from the van in the bamboo grove.
I called the workers from there, they were working in the potato field, fixing the drain for water. The two of them came and took the machine and other equipment. The machine was set up, the pipes were laid and the machine started to water. This potato field was not supposed to be irrigated, but there is absolutely no water in the soil, so if this irrigation is given, there will be no need to irrigate after the potatoes are harvested and before the almond seeds are sown. Today, the workers will work all day, we will only look after them. Working all day in the sun while fasting will make your body completely weak.
We have more potato fields next to us. They don't need to be irrigated. They are the right size for potatoes and there is juice in the land. Rice is planted around these lands, so they are quite wet because there is water in that land. Many people are still planting rice seedlings in the neighboring lands.
More than half of the land was irrigated by noon and the entire potato field was irrigated by afternoon. Now I will apply urea to the land. I took a bag of urea fertilizer and gave it to a worker. One worker is spreading the fertilizer. Another is arranging the pipes. Everything is finished by afternoon. After applying the fertilizer, the two workers deliver the machines and the remaining equipment to our house.
I had to go to the market to get iftar in the afternoon. I went to the market and returned with some ready-made iftar. The sun was looking beautiful in the afternoon sky, with a red glow. I took a picture of the bike braking on the road. Back home, I helped prepare iftar and everyone had iftar together at home. Alhamdulillah, our first fast was very good.
