The Diary Game: A Beautiful And Impactful Day At The Cardiology Unit(13/5/2026)
Hi Steemians!! 🌸
Welcome once again to my blog. I hope your day has been beautiful and productive. Today was another interesting and impactful day for me during my hospital training, and I’m excited to share a little glimpse of how it all went.
My day started with my morning prayers, committing the activities of the day into God’s hands before beginning with some little household chores. After getting things in order, I prepared and headed for work. Thankfully, I arrived quite early before our daily routine began.
As part of today’s activities, we were instructed to put on our ward coats before heading to the cardiology unit. Seeing everyone dressed professionally already made the environment feel serious and exciting because it reminded me that we are gradually growing into the healthcare profession.

At the cardiology unit, our tutors organized a health talk for the patients. We listened attentively and observed every detail because health education is a very important aspect of our practice as student dieticians. The session was thorough and interactive, covering important health and dietary information for the patients. I really enjoyed how engaged the patients were during the discussion. Questions were asked freely and answers were provided patiently by our tutors.
Interestingly, one of the patients directed a question to me. Although I was happy to participate, I politely referred her to the dietician since I am not yet a registered dietician. That moment made me realize the importance of professionalism and knowing your limits in the healthcare field. It was honestly a learning moment for me.
The class was lively and impactful, although there were a few distractions here and there because nurses occasionally called some of the patients out for routine checks and procedures. Despite the interruptions, we were still able to manage the class effectively and maintain everyone’s attention. The smiles and responses from the patients showed that they truly benefited from the session, and that alone made the experience worthwhile.
After the health talk, we took some pictures together before returning to our classroom. The interaction with the patients really touched me because it reminded me that healthcare is not only about treatment but also about communication, empathy, and education. Every day in this journey keeps teaching me something new, and I’m truly grateful for the experience.
One funny part of my day was that I left home without having breakfast 😅, so immediately after the session I quickly grabbed something to eat because I was already feeling very hungry. After breakfast, we continued with a group tutorial session where we discussed and revised some important points from the day’s activities before rounding up for the day.

I eventually got home later in the evening feeling tired but fulfilled. For dinner, I prepared yam and egg sauce which was honestly very satisfying after such a long day. After eating, I relaxed for about thirty minutes, then went through my notes so I wouldn’t forget the lessons from the day before finally going to bed.

Overall, it was a beautiful, productive, and impactful day for me. Moments like this make me appreciate the journey I’m on and motivate me to keep learning and improving every single day.
