The Diary Game [22/03/2026]: Cooking Ahead For A Busy Week And Fixing My Phone at Last

Sundays are usually my reset days, and today I made a decision that made me feel really proud of myself. I had a strong feeling that the new week ahead would be busy and demanding, so I decided to prepare ahead instead of waiting to be overwhelmed.

My day started early as I attended the first church service. It felt refreshing and peaceful, and honestly, it set the tone for the rest of my day. There’s just something special about starting your morning in God’s presence—it gives you clarity and calmness. After church, I returned home, had my breakfast, and rested for a short while before getting ready for the day’s activities.

Before heading to the shop where I'd buy everything I needed for my cooking, I decided to finally deal with something that had been stressing me for weeks, and that is my phone’s charging port. Charging my phone had become a daily struggle. Sometimes I had to hold the charger in a certain position before it would work, and it was honestly frustrating. So I went to a phone technician to get it fixed, and thankfully, the charging port was repaired successfully. My phone started charging perfectly again, and the relief I felt was unmatched! To avoid future issues, I also bought a brand new charger. That small step made me feel more organized and in control of my day.

After fixing my phone, I continued to the shop to buy the ingredients I needed for cooking. While shopping, I quickly noticed that prices had gone up compared to before. Thankfully, I had budgeted extra, so I was still able to buy everything I needed. When I asked the trader why prices had increased, he explained that the rise in fuel prices had affected transportation and, in turn, the cost of goods. It’s really surprising how something like fuel can impact almost everything we buy. After purchasing my items, I walked back home feeling grateful that the shop wasn’t too far, even though carrying the load wasn’t the easiest task.

Once I got home, I unpacked everything and felt satisfied with my purchases. The ingredients—fresh tomatoes, onions, sachet curry, chicken, vegetables, soup condiments, and sachet tomatoes—looked fresh and worth every naira spent.

Cooking is something I truly enjoy, especially when I’m in the right mood. To make it even more fun, I connected my Bluetooth speaker and played my favorite songs while cooking. The music made everything feel lighter and more enjoyable. I started by preparing the soup, taking my time to do it properly, and then moved on to cooking the stew. The aroma that filled the kitchen was so inviting and satisfying. To complete everything, I also boiled some white rice to enjoy with the stew.

After cooking, I cleaned up the kitchen and made sure everywhere was neat. There’s something so satisfying about a clean kitchen after a big cooking session. I then took a refreshing shower and finally sat down to enjoy my meal. It was absolutely delicious, and I felt so proud of myself, not just for cooking, but also for fixing my phone and getting a new charger. Today was truly productive, and I feel fully prepared for the busy week ahead.
