The Diary Game [06/01/2026] // A Day of Strength, Sacrifice, and Gratitude.

in Steem Cameroonlast month

Hi guys, accept special New Year greetings from the motherland, Cameroon and welcome to my blog where I share my daily lifestyle content.

Today felt like one of those days that truly define the life of a Cameroonian mother who is also trying her best to be a committed worker. The year has started on a very hectic note for me, filled with both offline and online responsibilities, coupled with poor health that slowed me down for a while. Still, I remain grateful to God because things are gradually falling back into place, and that alone gives me strength.

Walking to the main road to drop my kids off for school bus pickup

My day began early, as usual, with the school run. School mornings are never easy, especially when there is no support, and today my husband was not around, so the entire responsibility rested on my shoulders. Preparing the kids for school felt like a race against time. Just when I thought I had managed everything well enough, I checked my phone to confirm the school bus pickup time. To my greatest surprise, I received a message saying that the pickup location had been changed. I had to walk all the way to the main road with the kids. That was definitely not the kind of start I wanted for a new school term.

I was unhappy and stressed, but I had no choice. I complained to the driver about the inconvenience and how it affected my work schedule. Thankfully, he showed compassion, and I truly hope he reconsiders picking the kids from the original location. After seeing the kids off, I returned home, quickly showered, and rushed out to work.

Despite the stressful morning, my mood changed the moment I arrived at work. One of my colleagues welcomed me warmly with some sweet mangoes 😊. She noticed my bad mood immediately and knew that mangoes are one of my favourite fruits. I washed them and enjoyed every bite, especially since the mango season is gradually approaching. While eating, we chatted about the festive season and some of the happenings around the world, which helped lighten my mood.

Soon enough, it was back to business as I spent the rest of the working hours glued to my laptop, focused and determined to catch up with my tasks. By the time work ended, I was completely exhausted, but there was no room to rest yet.

Returning home, I had to gather myself and prepare dinner. Motherhood does not pause for exhaustion. After feeding the kids, I joined a brief chat with my curator team members, handling a few responsibilities before finally settling down to watch the AFCON Round of 16 match between the Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 and Burkina Faso 🇧🇫. It was an exciting game where the defending champions, the Ivory Coast, showed clear superiority over Burkina Faso.

After the match, I checked my children’s books and confirmed that all homework had been done. I tucked them into bed, said my prayers, and reflected on the day. Tomorrow is another opportunity to do better, and I sincerely hope it will be easier than today. Until my next diary, it’s goodnight from my end.
