The Diary Game [08/04/2026] // Field Work Struggles and Small Comforts at Home.
Hi guys, accept warm Steem greetings from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to my blog, where I'm gonna share my daily lifestyle content with you all.
Today was one of those days that truly tested my patience and resilience. The kind of day that makes you question why working from home is not always an option. It is the start of the rainy season, or at least it’s supposed to be, yet the sun had other plans. The sky looked dull, almost like it was deciding whether to pour or not, but instead, it unleashed a scorching heat that felt even more intense because of the humidity.
I woke up already wishing I could just stay indoors, away from the chaos of field work. But reality does not bend to comfort, so I got ready and headed out. The moment I stepped outside, the heat wrapped around me like a heavy blanket.
Field work today was exhausting because moving around under that kind of sun drains not just your energy but also your motivation. Every task felt twice as hard, every step heavier than usual. There were moments I paused, wiping sweat off my face, just staring at the horizon and thinking how much better it would be to sit behind a desk or, even better, work from home. But it is what it is, complaining would not get the job done, so I pushed through.

Despite the harsh conditions, I managed to complete everything I had planned for the day. There is always a small sense of satisfaction that comes with finishing your work, especially when the odds seem stacked against you. Still, by the time I wrapped up, I was completely drained both physically and mentally.
Returning home felt like a reward in itself. The familiar comfort of home instantly lifted my mood, even if just a little. Before settling in, I decided to harvest some oranges. It might sound like more work after such a tiring day, but somehow it felt therapeutic. Picking fresh oranges, feeling their weight in my hands, and knowing they help cool me down, it was exactly what I needed. Their natural sweetness and freshness did wonders in calming my nerves after all the talking and stress from the field.

By evening, my energy levels had hit rock bottom. Cooking dinner was simply out of the question. Instead, I settled for heating up some leftovers and it was not anything fancy, but it got the job done. Sometimes, that is all you really need, something quick and satisfying without adding more effort to an already exhausting day.
Later on, I tried to unwind with some football. The Champions League quarter-finals were on, and I was looking forward to a bit of excitement. The matches between Liverpool and PSG, and Barcelona versus Atletico Madrid, seemed promising. But the night did not go as hoped because both Liverpool and Barcelona ended up losing 2–0, which was disappointing. It is funny how even football, something meant to relax you, can sometimes add to your frustration.
After the matches, I knew there was only one thing left to do, cool down properly. I took a cold shower, letting the water wash away the heat and fatigue of the day. It was easily one of the best moments, standing there and feeling refreshed again.
Finally, I crawled into bed, completely worn out. Days like this remind me how demanding life can be, but also how important it is to keep pushing forward. It’s still midweek, so there’s more to come before the weekend arrives. Until my next diary, guys keep going as the weekend will come soon enough.
