The Diary Game [18/06/2026] // Motherhood, Work, and Farming During the Holidays.
Hi guys, accept greetings from the motherland of Cameroon and welcome back to my blog, where I share my daily lifestyle experiences with you all.
It is the holiday season, but for a working-class woman and mother like me, holidays do not necessarily mean rest. In fact, the morning hours are often the busiest. From the moment I wake up, it is a race against time as I run helter-skelter trying to meet up with daily commitments while also attending to my responsibilities as a mother and wife. Between preparing meals, checking on the children, organizing the home, and planning my day, there is hardly a dull moment.
Despite the endless tasks, I remain grateful to God for His faithfulness. He never fails to send helping hands at the right time, making the workload lighter and more manageable. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I am reminded that I am never alone in this journey, and for that, I am truly thankful.
My day officially kicked off with an important meeting with the Project Coordinator of CIVITAS Cameroon. We met to discuss preparations for their upcoming workshop on protecting women's access to land rights. It was an engaging and productive discussion as we explored various organizational aspects of the workshop and shared ideas on how to ensure its success. The issue of women's land rights remains a critical one in our communities, and I am glad to contribute in whatever way I can. By the end of our meeting, we agreed that another follow-up session would be necessary, so we scheduled another meeting for Sunday.
After concluding the meeting, I returned home and decided to pay a visit to our construction site. It had been quite some time since I last visited because of my busy schedule. Thankfully, my husband has been keeping me updated regularly since he visits the site almost every day. Nevertheless, seeing the progress with my own eyes brought me immense joy and satisfaction.

The construction work has advanced significantly. The first floor is nearing completion, and soon the decking will be done to finalize the last floor. Standing there and looking at what has been achieved so far filled me with gratitude and excitement. Every block laid and every step completed represents months of hard work, sacrifice, and determination.

As a typical Santa girl, however, you can never take farming away from us. No matter how busy life becomes, the farm remains part of who we are. So, despite the scorching afternoon sun, I decided to head to the farm. I had noticed that the huckleberry plants needed attention, and the overgrown grass had taken over parts of the farm.
I got to work and the heat was intense, and sweat flowed freely, but I was determined to leave the farm looking better than I found it. After spending hours weeding and clearing the overgrown grass, the farm looked much cleaner and healthier. There is always a special satisfaction that comes from seeing the results of one's labor on the farm.
Before leaving, I harvested plantains to take home. Seeing the fresh harvest reminded me once again of the rewards of patience and hard work. Carrying my harvest home, I felt both proud and grateful.

By the time I finally returned home, exhaustion had completely taken over. My body ached from the day's activities, but my heart was full. It had been a productive day filled with meaningful work, visible progress, and blessings worth celebrating.
As I prepare to rest and recharge for another busy day ahead, I thank God for His guidance, strength, and provision throughout the day. And until my next diary entry, it is good night from my end.
