The Diary Game [24/12/2025] // Christmas Eve in My Location.

Hi guys, compliments of the season once more to @everyone and welcome to my blog where I share my daily lifestyle content with you all.

If Christmas Eve had a sound, today it would be the broom sweeping the compound, pots clanging in the kitchen, children shouting, and football commentary already warming up in my head 😄. I woke up before dawn with sleepy eyes and a thankful heart. Another Christmas Eve and another chance to make magic with little.

Straight to work as I swept the yard while the morning breeze still had mercy on us. After cleaning, I did something very important which was changed the curtains. Yes oooh! clean curtains mean Christmas has officially entered the house 😂. As they floated gently by the windows, I stood back and admired my work. Tell me the truth, am I the only one who feels new curtains change the whole mood of a house?

Market time was the next program of the day. The market was on fire 🔥, noise, laughter, shouting, bargaining like Olympic sport. I secured some fruits, food items and a small piece of meat (don’t ask the price, Christmas has no respect).

On my way back, life reminded me of another reality. Behind a shop, I saw tiny kittens digging through bins, eating trash like street kids struggling to survive. My heart paused for a while and I shared the little bread I had and watched them eat quietly. Sometimes Christmas is not about plenty, but about noticing.

Stranded kittens.

Back home, the children were fully awake and running, arguing, laughing, asking “…mom, has Father Christmas passed?” Cooking started immediately because soon everyone will be hungry to refill before shouting in the late night when it is Christmas Day. Ndolé bubbling, plantains frying, smoke everywhere and the kitchen smelled like home. Between stirring and tasting, I cleaned chairs, wiped walls, and checked the curtains again (yes, again 😌 because the kids might just put things

Then came the AFCON NIGHT!, Cameroon vs Gabon ⚽🇨🇲. Ah! suddenly everyone had energy, chairs were rearranged facing the TV. The radio was on standby in case light disappeared (Cameroon parents know,…we do not trust the electricity company). I made sure food was ready early so nobody would disturb me during the match. Who else cannot cook and watch football at the same time? 😭

While ironing church clothes, the children argued about the score. “mom, Cameroon will win 3–0!”, “…No, Gabon is strong!” I just smiled 🙂 because our team is unpredictable. Notwithstanding, as long as the Indomitable Lions are playing, hope is compulsory.

As evening fell, neighbours passed by to greet, some already wearing jerseys. Palm wine was promised, laughter filled the compound. Christmas and football, is there a better combination? We prayed and hope for Cameroon to score first 🙏🏾😄.

Now, the kids are fighting sleep but refusing to blink because “…the match is about to start.” I’m tired as well, but my heart is full as Christmas Eve did not disappoint.

So tell me:
👉 What are you cooking tonight?
👉 Who are you supporting, Cameroon or Gabon?
👉 And have you changed your curtains yet? 😏

Until my next diary guys, from this Cameroonian mother to you, Merry Christmas Eve ❤️🎄⚽
