The Diary Game [25/01/2026] // A Busy Sunday in the Life of a Cameroonian Mother.

Hi guys, accept Steem greetings from the motherland, Cameroon and welcome to my blog where I share my daily lifestyle content with you all.

It was Sunday and started the way most Sundays do in my house before the sun was fully awake, I was already on my feet. As a Cameroonian mother, rest is something you schedule in your dreams, not always in real life. I said a short prayer of thanks for a new day and quickly began planning all that needed to be done before nightfall. Sundays are meant for rest, but work always seems to find its way home with me.

The first task of the day was laundry, with children in the house, clothes multiply like magic. I sorted uniforms, church clothes, and the everyday play wear, filled buckets with water, and got to work. While scrubbing and rinsing, my mind was already jumping to the long list ahead, cleaning, cooking, supervising revision, and still finding time for my online activities. After hanging the clothes neatly outside under the warm morning sun, I moved straight into cleaning the house. Sweeping, mopping, dusting, every corner had to be touched. I like the feeling of a clean house; it gives me a sense of order even when life feels rushed.

By late afternoon, hunger began announcing itself loudly, so I headed to the kitchen to prepare fried rice. Sunday food must be special, even if energy is low. I chopped vegetables, washed rice, and seasoned the meat carefully. While the rice was frying on the fire, the aroma filled the house and drew the children closer, asking every few minutes if the food was ready. Cooking is tiring, but seeing my family eat with joy always makes it worth it.

Just as I was serving the food, my sister-in-law arrived. She came with smiles, warm greetings, and a precious gift for us which was crayfish from the village. I welcomed her happily, in our culture, visitors are blessings. We chatted briefly, laughed, and exchanged family news. The crayfish instantly made me think of the delicious soups it would flavor in the coming days.

After lunch, it was time to focus on the children. Exams are coming up this week, and there is no room for laziness. I followed them closely, making sure they revised their notes, practiced questions, and stayed focused. Sometimes they complained, sometimes they tried to escape, but I stayed firm. Their success tomorrow depends on our discipline today, and I take that responsibility seriously.

In the quiet moments between supervising revision, I picked up my phone to do some curation on Steemit using the Steemcurator04 account. It felt good to support other writers, read their stories, and contribute positively to the community. Even on busy days, I try not to neglect this responsibility because consistency matters online just as it does at home.

As evening approached, I finally allowed myself to sit down and watch the much anticipated match between Arsenal and Manchester United. The game was tense, full of emotion and suspense. My heart raced with every attack and missed chance. For a short while, laundry, exams, and house chores disappeared from my mind as I focused on the screen, reacting to every move like a true football lover.

By the time night fell, exhaustion settled into my bones. The house was quieter, the children were preparing for bed, and I finally had a moment to breathe. It was a long, busy Sunday, filled with work, family, responsibility, and small joys. As I lay down to rest, I felt tired but fulfilled, grateful for the strength to carry out my duties and hopeful for a productive week ahead. Until my next diary guys, I wish you all a fruitful week ahead.
