The Diary Game [26/04/2026] // Sunday of Quiet Choices and Small Fulfillments.
Hi guys, accept steem greetings from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to my blog, where I’m gonna share my lifestyle content with you all.
Sunday always carries a quiet sense of expectation, especially as a Christian. It is a day traditionally set aside for worship, reflection, and renewal. Yet this particular Sunday unfolded differently for me. I woke up to the gentle, persistent sound of rain tapping against the roof in the early hours of the morning. The cool air that drifted through the windows made the bed feel even more inviting, and for once, I had no plans of going to church. Instead, I allowed myself to embrace the calm and simplicity of the day.
The weather seemed to call for something warm and comforting, so I made my way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. I decided to fry ripe plantains paired with omelettes. As the plantains sizzled in the pan and their sweet aroma filled the kitchen, I felt a sense of contentment settle in. The omelettes, fluffy and well-seasoned, complemented the plantains perfectly. Each bite felt like a small reward, warming me from the inside out.
After breakfast, I spent some time relaxing, enjoying the quiet atmosphere that the rain had created. There was no rush, no strict schedule just a peaceful pause. But as midday approached, I knew it was time to return to the kitchen. I decided to make huckleberry with fufu, a hearty and satisfying meal that would also be shared with the workers at the construction site.
Cooking took a bit of time, but it was worth it. Once everything was ready, I packed the food and set out on foot. The construction site is not far from home, so I chose to walk. The rain had eased by then, leaving behind a fresh, earthy scent that made the short journey even more pleasant.

When I arrived at the site, I noticed the contractor was not around, but his two workers were present. They greeted me warmly and, after receiving the food, took the time to show me the progress made over the past few days. I listened attentively as they explained each step of their work. The building is a six-apartment structure, with each unit designed to include three bedrooms, three toilets, a kitchen, and a sitting room.

The workers showed me how they had been busy preparing iron rods to raise the concrete beams and arranging the boards needed for the next phase. Their effort was evident, and I felt satisfied with how things were progressing.

Curious and wanting a better view, I went upstairs. From there, I could feel a gentle breeze and take in the surroundings. The highlight was the sea view in the distance, it was calm, vast, and soothing. I could not resist capturing the moment, so I took a picture to remember it.

I also had a brief conversation with the engineer on the phone. He assured me that proper work would kick off by Wednesday, and with some optimism, he mentioned that the concrete walls might start going up soon. That gave me something to look forward to.
After wrapping things up, I headed back home. The rest of the day was quiet as I turned on the television and caught part of the Turkish league match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, though my interest quickly faded. Eventually, I switched to Netflix, letting the evening drift by effortlessly.
And just like that, the day came to an end, simple, productive, and quietly fulfilling. Until my next diary, remain blessed.

Congratulations! Your post has been upvoted from sc-09 account. You are a great bard. The structure of your story makes it easier to part of your day in real-time. You did tell us why you couldn't go to church. I will come to your house and the offering (joking).
I pray for the construction to be concluded in record time. Money will be avaliable and contractors will not fail.
