The Diary Game [28/06/2026] // First Day of Family Reunion.

Hi guys, accept greetings from the motherland of Cameroon and welcome back to my blog, where I share my daily lifestyle experiences with you all.

Today was the long-awaited first day of our family reunion, and it was every bit as exciting as I had imagined. After weeks of anticipation and preparation, the day finally arrived. Although it began with a long and tiring overnight journey, the joy of being reunited with family made every moment worthwhile.

We travelled throughout the night, and despite trying to get some sleep on the way, it was difficult because of the excitement. The roads were quiet, and the cool night air made the journey pleasant. As dawn broke, we watched the beautiful sunrise from the vehicle, a perfect reminder that a special day was about to begin. We finally arrived at our destination at about 7:00 a.m. Everyone looked exhausted, but there were smiles on our faces because we had safely reached our destination.

Instead of going straight to the reunion venue, our first priority was to visit Grandma. It had been quite some time since many of us had seen her, so everyone was eager to spend a few moments with her. When we arrived, she welcomed us warmly with a broad smile that instantly erased the fatigue of the journey. She was delighted to see us, and it was heartwarming to hear her laughter as she greeted each family member. We spent some time talking with her, sharing stories, and receiving her blessings before leaving for the reunion venue. That visit reminded me how precious our elders are and how important it is to spend quality time with them.

After saying goodbye to Grandma, we made our way back to the family reunion venue. By then, more relatives had started arriving from different places. As the morning progressed, the compound gradually became livelier. Every few minutes, another vehicle would arrive, bringing more family members. There were hugs, cheerful greetings, laughter, and endless conversations as cousins, uncles, aunts, and other relatives reunited after months or even years apart. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, and it was wonderful to witness everyone reconnecting.

By the afternoon, almost everyone had arrived. The reunion was now in full swing, and there was a strong sense of togetherness. Rather than sitting around, everyone willingly joined in the preparations for the days ahead. The adults coordinated different tasks while the younger family members eagerly assisted wherever they could. It was inspiring to see everyone working as one big team.

Most of the work involved organising the food supplies. We carefully arranged drinks, meat, vegetables, and other groceries in the refrigerator to keep everything fresh and well organised. It required teamwork because there were many items to sort and limited space in the fridge.

Once everything was neatly arranged, attention shifted to preparing the chickens. Several family members worked together to clean and cut them into pieces for cooking over the coming days. Although it was not the easiest task, it became enjoyable because people chatted, laughed, and joked while working. The shared effort made the work seem lighter and strengthened the spirit of cooperation among us.

As evening approached, I looked around and realised how special the day had been. It was not filled with grand celebrations or elaborate activities, but with simple moments that truly mattered, travelling together, visiting Grandma, welcoming relatives, and working side by side. These ordinary activities created unforgettable memories because they brought our family closer together.

Despite the tiredness from travelling all night, I ended the day feeling grateful and happy. The first day of our family reunion was a beautiful beginning, filled with love, laughter, teamwork, and togetherness. If today is anything to go by, the days ahead promise even more memorable experiences that I will cherish for years to come.
