The Diary Game: How I Prepared Dinner For My Family (24/03/2026)

I haven’t prepared a proper meal for 2days now due to stress and I had to rest from cooking. Today I decided to cook but towards evening, i’ve been craving vegetable soup with any solid, I bought vegetables and pepper from neighborhood, I rinse the pepper and grind the pepper using blender. I cut the vegetables and rinse as well. I boil water and pour it to soften the vegetables and I covered it to stimulate it. I get hungry and I went to find something to eat. My daughter prepared yam and egg in the morning and I ate part of it.

When I was getting the vegetable ready, I got hungry and I eat from the food my daughter prepared for school in the morning. I left the food preparation to go eat. As I was eating I noticed that the weather changed and hubby spread cocoyam he got from farm outside and I spread herbs too. I quickly eat my food and allow to digest, I then rush outside to go go pack up the things outside . As I was packing up I thought of capturing the weather and the things I packed. I go back inside to get my phone and capture it.

I arranged the cocoyam inside and I moved the unnecessary things in the store out to make room for the cocoyam, I put in it in a corner close to where air can get in the store and continue with my cooking, i packed the pepper stick and as about to pack the vegetables stick, I see that there’s still vegetables in between the sticks and I remove it and slice with the ones i have in sorted out initially.

After packing it, I noticed there’s still vegetables left from the sliced one on the floor. I sliced it and add to the one already sliced in boil water. And I started my cooking, I get my pot ready, I get the necessary ingredients to cook and I get started. I pour oil inside my pot and allow it to get hot and thereafter i pour onions and allow it fry a bit for the heat of the onions to enter the oil and I poured my locust beans and egusi into the palm oil , I pour the pepper as well and allow it to cook altogether for 5minutes.

After cooking for 5minutes, I pour my meat stock and fish into the cooking pot. I give it few minutes and added Knoor cubes and salt. I stir and added my vegetables . I cook for 3minutes and get my vegetables soup ready for any swallow available. I thought of eating my vegetables soup with pounded yam but I can’t pound it with mortal and pestle, I had to wait for hubby to come back from work before preparing for the swallow to eat with the vegetables soup I prepared.

I remember back then, when my mum feels stressed and unable to cook. At point, my sister's will handle it with her supervision. Sometimes, tiredness from stress sets in. That's when rest is needed so the person don't break down.
Good to see that after your rest you bounced back with a delicious vegetable soup.
